More big games this week for area high school football teams

A look at this week’s high school football games involving teams from Bibb, Houston, Peach, Monroe, Jones, Crawford and Twiggs counties:

Thursday

Spalding at Southwest: The Patriots are 0-3 all-time against Spalding.

Friday

Warner Robins at Houston County: The Demons were off last week, while the Bears got their first win of the season.

Northside at Ware County: The Eagles have won three straight games since opening the season with a loss.

Jones County at Woodland-Stockbridge: The Greyhounds stay on the road in GHSA Region 4-5A play.

Peach County at Mary Persons: Two traditional powers face off in Forsyth.

Howard at Veterans (McConnell-Talbert Stadium): The game originally was scheduled for Thursday.

Harris County at Perry: The Panthers will try to bounce back from their loss to Peach County.

Central vs. Northeast (Henderson Stadium): The Chargers are winless while the Raiders are undefeated.

Rutland at Crisp County: The Hurricanes are still searching for their first win of the season.

B.E.S.T. at Westside (Ed DeFore Sports Complex): The Seminoles were off last week.

Warren County at FPD: The Vikings are coming off a big win over Hawkinsville.

Mount de Sales at Aquinas: The Cavaliers have matched their win total from last year with a 2-1 start.

Pacelli at Tattnall Square: The Trojans have won 13 straight regular-season games.

Crawford County at Central-Talbotton: The Eagles are 2-0 and are coming off a bye week.

Twiggs County at Greene County: The Cobras are 0-3.

John Milledge at Westfield: John Milledge won the GISA Class 3A championship last year.

Windsor at Flint River: The Knights continue to search for their first win.

Griffin Christian at Covenant: The Rams suffered their first loss of the season Friday.
