Georgia freshman tight end Charlie Woerner was unable to practice Monday due to an injury sustained to his right leg.

Woerner was spotted wearing a walking boot and riding a stationary bike. Woerner is one of five tight ends vying for time in Georgia’s rotation.

Woerner was mostly a receiver, running back and safety in high school and has been adjusting to the tight end position. He’s expected to play a role on offense in his first year with the program.

Wearing black non-contact jerseys at practice Monday were running back Sony Michel (open fracture to left forearm), inside linebacker Juwan Taylor (undisclosed) and cornerback Juwuan Briscoe (undisclosed). Taylor didn't participate in Saturday's scrimmage but was able to run around during position drills.

Receiver Isaiah McKenzie (shoulder) was no longer wearing a black jersey and was back into his regular red one, signaling his return to contact.

Inside linebacker Natrez Patrick (leg) still seemed limited at practice, although he was in a regular white jersey. Defensive lineman John Atkins (hyperextended knee) is still not practicing with his teammates.

Defensive lineman Michael Barnett appeared to injure his arm in practice and was taken out, with a trainer taking a closer look at it.
