Young receivers earning reps with top groups

Riley Ridley was able to move up the depth chart during spring practice.

That hasn’t changed four days into the preseason.

Ridley was seen numerous times working as one of the top four receivers during the 12 minutes reporters were able to view practice. While receivers did rotate with the first few groups, Ridley was a noticeable present at the top.

The top two receivers, at least from what could be seen in the open viewing period, were Terry Godwin and Michael Chigbu. Ridley and Isaiah McKenzie were in the next group with Reggie Davis and Kenneth Towns following.

Freshman Tyler Simmons and sophomore Jayson Stanley also rotated in the first three groups at times.

Georgia is deep in numbers but lacks significant game experience outside of Godwin, McKenzie and Davis. As a result, there will be plenty of opportunities for playing time at the position among the younger players.
