New Georgia gymnastics head coach Courtney Kupets Carter will earn a salary of $160,000 per year, according to a document obtained through the state's Open Records Act.

Kupets Carter's salary went into effect on May 8. Her hiring was announced by the Georgia athletics program Tuesday at a news conference. Kupets Carter competed for the Gym Dogs in college from 2006 through 2009 and won nine individual titles while helping her team claim four national championships.

Kupets Carter was hired to replace previous gymnastics head coach Danna Durante, who was fired 10 days after her fifth season ended.

Durante's contract slated her to earn $180,000 per year on a deal that went through 2020. This number received a $5,000 raise from her original contract, which saw her earning $175,000 per year.

Kupets Carter has yet to announce any full-time assistant hires but did reveal Suzanne Yoculan Leebern would return to assist her on a volunteer basis. Yoculan Leebern led Georgia from 1983-2009 and won 10 national championships, which included five in a row from 2005-09.
