Keith Marshall, seen reeling off a run against Penn State in the TaxSlayer Bowl, will participate in the upcoming NFL combine.

At one point in time, Georgia running back Keith Marshall's grade point average and 40-yard dash rivaled each other. Later this month, he'll have a chance to show the NFL both of those attributes.

According to an NFL source, Marshall received an invite and will participate in the upcoming NFL scouting combine. Along with the other running backs, Marshall will arrive in Indianapolis for the combine on Feb. 23 to begin four-day process. After registering, measuring in, and partaking in various testing over the first three days, he'll have the chance to participate in football drills on Feb. 26.

The NFL combine's official invite list is expected to be released this week.

Marshall arrived at Georgia in 2012 as a blue-chip recruit and had a big freshman season in tandem with Todd Gurley, who was recently named the Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after his first year with the St. Louis Rams. As a freshman, Marshall ran for 759 yards and 8 touchdowns, averaging 6.5 yards per carry in the process.

As a sophomore, Marshall tore his anterior cruciate ligament in a game against Tennessee, which also cost the majority of his third year. He was eligible to apply for a medical redshirt after this past season but elected not to. In his final year at Georgia, Marshall ran for 350 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Marshall entered Georgia with blazing speed and posted 40-yard dash times in the 4.3 range.

One online video from 2012 shows Marshall in a 40-yard dash race against Georgia teammate Malcolm Mitchell, and claims he posted a time of 4.28. At Millbrook High School in Raleigh, N.C., Marshall posted a 4.31 grade point average before enrolling early at Georgia.

Marshall graduated from Georgia in December with a 3.2 GPA and a degree in finance.
