Dominick Sanders, brother of Chris, commits to Georgia

ATHENS - Chris Sanders left Georgia under a cloud. His younger brother did not let that deter him.

Dominick Sanders, a safety at Tucker High School, committed to Georgia late on Monday night, days after reneging on a commitment to Central Florida.

Sanders is a three-star safety, just as his older brother was when he signed with Georgia out of Tucker in 2011. Chris Sanders went on to be one of the most impressive young players in practice as a freshman. But after the season he was dismissed from the team, along with Nick Marshall and Sanford Seay, following a theft from a teammates' dorm room.

Marshall famously transferred to junior college and then to Auburn. Seay is on his way to Louisiana Tech after spending time in junior college. Chris Sanders is on his way to Baylor, but after a longer path: He first transferred to Georgia Military College, but was dismissed from that team as well. He then went to a junior college in Arizona.

Dominick Sanders (listed at 5-foot-11 and 187 pounds) becomes the 18th commitment in Georgia's class, and the first defensive player since Jeremy Pruitt was hired as defensive coordinator. Sanders is the second safety to commit for the class, after Kendall Gant, and there are also two cornerbacks, Malkom Parrish and Shattle Fenteng.
