Oscar Delp is staying home.

The four-star tight end prospect made his college choice in a ceremony at West Forsyth High School on Wednesday evening.

Delp picked the home-state Georgia Bulldogs over South Carolina, Clemson and Michigan. The UGA campus is about 70 miles east of Delp’s high school.

“I feel at home there. It was a gut feeling and a perfect fit,” said Delp, who admitted he knew he’d pick Georgia since much earlier in the recruiting process. “I knew since the start of the recruitment.”

The 6-foot-5, 220 pound tight end is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 3 prospect at his position and No. 9 recruit out of the state of Georgia.

Delp also said he has been impressed by how Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs are utilizing freshman tight end Brock Bowers in the offense this year. Bowers is Georgia’s leading receiver through six games, with 20 catches for 315 yards and four touchdowns.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball gave Delp a 91.7% chance of picking Georgia — though no predictions had been entered since February — with the other 8.3% going to Michigan. Rivals FutureCast’s prediction was a unanimous 100% in Georgia’s favor.

Delp visited Georgia on Sept. 18, when the Bulldogs routed the Gamecocks 40-13 in Athens. He most recently visited South Carolina for the Gamecocks’ 23-14 victory over Troy.

Delp is the 11th four-star prospect committed to Georgia’s 2022 class, which went into Wednesday ranked No. 5 in the nation and No. 2 in the Southeastern Conference. He’s the first tight end to commit to Georgia in this cycle.
