Mercer conducting baseball draft fundraiser
The Mercer Athletic Foundation is giving fans the chance to guess where Bears outfielder Kyle Lewis will go in Thursday’s Major League Baseball draft.
The two-time Southern Conference Player of the Year is projected to go in the top 10 picks by all of the major scouting services, with some projecting him as the top pick in the draft.
To play, each of the top 10 picks in the draft have a giving level to the Mercer Athletic Foundation attached, unrestricted gifts only, ranging from $100 for a first-round pick to $10 for the No. 10 pick or later.
Gifts must be received by Wednesday. Entries can be made at mercerbears.com, by calling 301-4017 or mailing Allie Ware at the Mercer Athletic Foundation, 1501 Mercer University Drive, Macon GA 31207.
Correct picks will qualify for a special commemorative prize, according to a release from the foundation.
