Katia Stravroulaki was named the Southern Conference women's tennis player of the week last week.
Stravroulaki went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 at No. 1 doubles with Grace Korta en route to earning the first such honor of her career at Mercer.
Stravroulaki is Mercer's first conference player of the week since Jennifer Lada was named the A-Sun player of the week on Feb. 3, 2010.
In singles play, Stravroulaki started the week with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jacksonville State's Olivia Nguyen, helping the Bears to pick up a 6-1 win. She was started the third set against Missouri's Bea Machado Santos when the Tigers clinched the match, leaving Stravroulaki's match unfinished.

She wrapped up the week with a 6-4, 6-7 (4-6), 10-8 win over Liza Fieldsend of The College of Charleston.
