Mercer nips Wofford in men’s soccer
Jordan Duru’s goal off of a deflected save gave Mercer a 2-1 win in overtime over Wofford on Saturday in Southern Conference men’s soccer.
After a scoreless first half, Wofford scored in the 70th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Mercer equalized in the 84th minute when Conner Antley found Will Bagrou 10 yards out from the goal and Bagrou scored off the short pass.
Neither team was able to put anything away in the final minutes of regulation, sending the match to overtime.
Mercer, which hosts Furman on Tuesday, improved to 6-4 overall and 1-1 in Southern Conference play, while Wofford fell to 6-2-1 and 1-1 in league action.
