Mercer ‘Bear-A-Van’ to visit Byron

The Mercer “Bear-A-Van” is on its way to Byron on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. appearance at the Byron Municipal Complex.

Athletics director Jim Cole will be joined by men’s basketball head coach Bob Hoffman, women’s basketball head coach Susie Gardner and football head coach Bobby Lamb for this meet-and-greet opportunity, which will also include appearances from Toby the Bear and several Mercer student-athletes.

According to a news release, the caravan will bring the Mercer athletics experience directly to the fans and allow Bears fans the opportunity to connect one-on-one with coaches, student-athletes and administrators.

Along with meeting the Mercer coaches and athletes, there will be free food and door prizes given away. The “Bear-A-Van” is scheduled to last two hours and conclude around 7:30 p.m.
