Mercer lifts lockdown on athletic facilities initially closed due to emailed threat

Mercer University has lifted a lockdown on its athletic facilities. The university closed the buildings Wednesday morning after a threatening email was sent to athletics staff, according to an emailed statement.

Police are still investigating the incident but do not believe there is a credible threat to students, faculty or staff.
