Mercer women win Idle Hour Collegiate

Mercer was two shots better than Southern Miss and Toledo in winning the Idle Hour Collegiate on Tuesday at Idle Hour Club.

The Bears shot 300-297-300 to finish at 33-over-par 897 to win the 54-hole event. Troy finished fourth, while Western Kentucky and Cincinnati were fifth and sixth, respectively.

Mercer had two players finish in the top five. Marin Hanna shot a 2-over 218 to take fourth, while Hannah Mae Deems shot 4-over 220 to finish fifth. Terese Romeo tied for 11th at 9-over 225, while Lauren Lightfrits shot 18-over 234 to finish tied for 39th.

Western Kentucky’s Mary Joiner finished at 3-under 213 to claim medalist honors.
