Middle Georgia State women's basketball clips Miles

The Middle Georgia State women's basketball team picked up its second straight win Wednesday, defeating Miles 68-62 to give the NAIA program a win over an NCAA Division II school.

The Knights had a 16-point lead in the second quarter -- women's college basketball is using four 10-minute quarters this season -- and led by nine at the half. Miles closed its gap to two points with two minutes to go, but Middle Georgia State held on.

Senior Shaketa Hodges (Rutland) led Middle Georgia State with 20 points. Sophomore TyAsia Grayer (Rutland) had nine points and 17 rebounds, while senior Jaylyn Jones (Wilkinson County) added 12 points.

Middle Georgia State is at Armstrong State on Monday.
