Area players earn preseason all-state honors

The Georgia High School Football Daily preseason all-state teams are out, with plenty of Middle Georgians making an appearance.

Class 6A: Houston County quarterback Jake Fromm, Houston County offensive lineman Trey Hill and Northside defensive back Tae Daley.

Class 5A: Jones County quarterback Bradley Hunnicutt and receiver Nick Singleton, and Warner Robins offensive lineman Christian Armstrong.

Class 4A: running back Darius Bradford of West Laurens, Mary Persons offensive lineman Caleb Etheridge and defensive lineman Malik Herring.

Class 3A: Peach County linebacker Kyle Nixon and place-kicker Omar Cervantes.

Class 2A: Dodge County offensive lineman Theron Cooper, Dodge County place-kicker Peyton Bush and Southwest defensive lineman B.J. Sharpe.

Class 1A public: Taylor County running back Lyn-J Dixon, Dooly County linebacker John Clayton, and Macon County quarterback K’Hari Lane, running back Jared Daniels, wideout Trey Brown, offensive lineman Christian Meadows and linebacker Kentarius Felton.

Class 1A private: Tattnall Square wideout Jimmy Marshall, FPD offensive lineman Thomas McBride and Stratford defensive lineman Tobe Umerah.

The website also listed its players to watch by position, and that feature also had a heavy Middle Georgia influence:

Quarterbacks: Fromm, Hunnicutt and Lane.

Running backs: Dixon.

Receivers: Singleton.

Defensive linemen: Herring.

Defensive backs: Daley.

All-purpose/athletes will be released Thursday.
