Fromm, Herring make All-America teams

A pair of Maxpreps preseason All-Americans will line up across the line of scrimmage from one another at Mercer in less than a month.

Maxpreps named Houston County quarterback Jake Fromm to its Big Schools All-America team while Mary Persons defensive end Malik Herring made the Medium Schools team.

Mill Creek place-kicker Brenton King joined Fromm on that team, while defensive back Richard Lecounte of Liberty County joined Herring.

Grayson defensive back DeAngelo Gibbs and athlete Jamyest Williams, and Roswell defensive back Xavier McKinney made the Big School defense.

The website will release the Small School teams next week. Big schools are enrollments greater than 2,000, medium 1,000-2,000 and small schools below 1,000. Houston County's enrollment figure for the 2016-18 GHSA reclassification was 1,791, and 1,214 for Mary Persons.
