Northeast’s Mitchell signs with Limestone track

Northeast girls track and field standout Alexis Mitchell will continue her career in college not too far from home.

Mitchell signed on Friday with Limestone, a Division II program in Gaffney, South Carolina.

The Raiders got plenty of production from Mitchell.

She finished fifth in Class AA in the GHSA girls state meet in the 400, and sixth in the 200 and long jump. Mitchell also helped the Northeast relay teams to fifth-place finishes.

The Raiders finished tied for fifth in Class AA with St. Vincent's.
