Georgia College rolls to road win
Georgia College topped Augusta 10-5 on Saturday for its second win in the series.
The Bobcats improved to 30-16 overall and 18-11 in Peach Belt Conference play. Augusta fell to 29-18 and 17-11.
Designated hitter Wesley Wommack got the Bobcats going with a second-inning single, and Brandon Purcell and Tanner Giesel followed with two-run singles in the second to put Georgia College in control.
Matthew Miller added a solo homer, and then the Bobcats added single runs in two consecutive innings
Dylan Cook completed the scoring for Georgia College with a two-run homer.
Cook and Giesel led the Bobcats with three RBI each.
Starting pitcher Charlie Hecht improved to 7-2 with five strikeouts in seven innings.
Georgia College took a 6-2 lead after two innings en route to a 12-5 win in the series opener on Friday.
The series concludes at 1 p.m. Sunday.
