More area high school athletes sign
Area athletes continue to plan their future with colleges, the latest ranging from Pennsylvania to Alabama.
Westfield girls basketball standout Unique Tuberville signed Thursday with Haverford, a Division III program in northwest Philadelphia that finished 15-11 last year.
Multi-sport standout Giles Amos signed papers with Alabama football as a preferred walk-on. The 6-4 receiver caught 98 passes for 25 touchdowns and 2,155 yards during his career with the Hornets.
FPD cross country and track standout Maggie Johnston will sign on Friday with Samford of the Southern Conference. Johnston is the reigning state Class A discus champion, and has consecutive area titles in the event. She was second in state two year ago. She also qualified last year for the state meet in the shot.
