Knicks' Mike Brown Makes Bold Declaration About OG Anunoby Game Winner
The New York Knicks mounted the largest comeback in NBA Finals history on Wednesday night, erasing the San Antonio Spurs‘ 29-point lead to notch a 107-106 final score at Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks could not have accomplished this feat without the elite play of OG Anunoby, who finished the game with a playoff career-high 33 points - including a game-winning tip-in with just over one second remaining on the clock.
Anunoby crashed the glass after a missed three pointer from Jalen Brunson, tipping the ball in with his right hand.
Knicks head coach Mike Brown made a bold declaration about this moment during his postgame press conference.
“That has to be the most iconic shot in the history of New York basketball,” Brown said.

The Knicks trailed the Spurs by almost 30 points at halftime. But by holding San Antonio to just 30 total points in the second half, Brown’s squad was able to mount the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.
“You have to have a little luck in life,” Brown added after the win. “You’ve got to have a little luck in sports. But you can also make your luck too. So you’ve got to have some natural luck and some luck where you’re going to make your own luck, and that was probably the biggest message.”
