Serena Williams' Doubles Partner, Victoria Mboko, Is Overjoyed
Serena Williams is back on the WTA Tour for the first time since the 2022 US Open.
Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, said she was "evolving" away from tennis after losing to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round of the 2022 US Open. However, it was revealed in December 2025 that she reentered the registered testing pool for the International Tennis Integrity Agency. That was a pretty clear sign that she was opening up the door for a comeback.
It wasn't until this week that TNT Sports reported that Williams will team up with Canada's Victoria Mboko for doubles at the Queen's Club Championships.
Mboko, the No. 9 ranked player in the world, is more than ready to compete alongside Williams. She shared a photo of them on the court together this Thursday.
"The Queen is back," Mboko wrote for her caption. "An honor to share the court with one of the greatest athletes of all time this week. Even more excited to play doubles together! Tennis is pretty special."
What should fans expect from Serena?
Venus Williams made an appearance as a guest analyst for the French Open. During her time on TNT, she offered some insight on her sister's return to the WTA.
"I never see her on the court that often so I don't know when she's been practicing honestly," Venus said. "I'm honest, I don't know how her form is. What I will tell you is she can not hit for four months and she'll come out and grab a racket and running shoes and just hit the ton out of the ball without ever hitting. It's incredible. The quality of her stroke is obviously there," Venus said. "She's, I think, a little bit of a natural. She has a pretty good record. She knows what she's doing. She's pretty tenacious. So I'm not worried about how she's going to play even though I haven't really seen her play."
It wouldn't shock us at all if Serena produces a few memorable moments at Queen's.
