Giannis to Celtics, Jaylen Brown to Bucks: Who Says No?
Giannis Antetokounmpo will either sign an extension with the Milwaukee Bucks in the coming weeks or be traded sometime this offseason, per the team’s front office, which has watched the Greek superhuman lead them to an NBA championship.
And while the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks are grabbing headlines as the teams most linked to the multi-time MVP, it might be another Eastern Conference team that is most equipped to trade for one of the best basketball players of the 21st century.
Would the Boston Celtics trade Jaylen Brown for Antetokounmpo?

While the Bucks might need to throw in some draft capital or vice versa, depending on how each team values present vs. future success, it’s one of the few trades for Antetokounmpo that would leave the Bucks in a position to compete next season.
Brown is coming off a season where he proved he can be the ace of a squad that can finish near the top of the East. If the Bucks, given their current predicament, feel they have the roster to compete in a soft Eastern Conference, a trade for Brown would keep them competitive for years to come.
For the Celtics, though it might seem all-in, it would pair Tatum with a player who stylistically pairs with him better than Brown. Boston, which has lived and died by the three-point shot, would now have an elite rim scorer who would force teams to patrol the paint.
It’s a risky trade for both franchises that could backfire depending on multiple factors.
What if Brown lashes out after already showing signs at the end of his Boston tenure?
What if Antetokounmpo is on the decline and his injuries begin to slow down his otherworldly athleticism?
If the “Greek Freak” Sweepstakes begins once again this summer, the Celtics should be in the pole position. But will they even enter the race?
