A new local sports-talk radio show goes on the air in Middle Georgia Oct. 2.

“Creekside Sports,” an hour-long daily program, will air on WNEX-FX (100.9 The Creek) Monday through Friday beginning at 10 a.m.

In a news release, the station said the show adds to its programming lineup “an authoritative but fun breakdown of local games, news and rivalries with frequent guest spots from coaches, players and personalities.”

The show will be hosted by Steve Norris and Daniel Shirley.

Norris has experience broadcasting area high school and junior college football as well as a background in reporting on local news and sports. He was a freelance sportswriter for The Telegraph from 2008 until 2012, mainly covering high school games.

Shirley was sports editor of The Telegraph from 2007 until 2017. He was until recently the co-host of a daily show on Macon’s all-sports WXKO-FM (93.1 The SuperStations). Shirley works as a senior college football editor for The Athletic.
