Former Georgia standout Jordan Davis introduces new massive burrito at Barbaritos

Diners may not be getting their names called in the NFL Draft like former Georgia defensive lineman Jordan Davis will on Thursday night, but they can eat like the national champion.

Davis announced a partnership with Barberitos to become their new brand ambassador. Part of the deal includes a new burrito called the Heavy-D Jordan Davis Burrito. The new menu item stands up to the name and to the man behind who stands 6 feet, 6 inches tall and is 340 pounds.

The burrito includes double portions of a standard Barberitos burrito, including two tortillas, double portions of meat, rice, cheese, salsa, beans, lettuce, ranch and guacamole.

“During my time as a Dawg in Athens, Barberitos was always one of my favorite places to eat,” Davis said. “Barb’s delicious, fresh and healthy food allows me to do my best on the field, while the restaurant gives back to the community with Burrito Love. I can’t wait for my friends and family to enjoy my Heavy-D burrito and wish the best of luck to anyone who can finish it.”

Barberitos is a fast-casual restaurant with more than 50 locations across the Southeast, including a few in Middle Georgia. The deal with Davis will not only feature the new burrito but also print, radio, television and social media content and advertising.

This is all part of Davis rising up the draft boards after turning heads at the combine. The big interior lineman has been rumored as a potential top 10 pick and is almost a lock to be a first round pick.

Davis was a key piece on the historic defense that led Georgia to its first national championship since 1980. He was a first team All-American and took him the Bednarik and Outland awards.

“As a national champion, Jordan makes such an impact both on and off the football field, whether he’s stopping offenses or engaging with fans,” Barberitos Founder and CEO Downing Barber said. “We are thrilled to see what he will make as the new face of the brand and had a blast creating the new ‘Heavy-D Jordan Davis Burrito.’”
