Macon Touchdown Club honors best Middle Georgia high school football coaches, players

The Macon Touchdown Club honored several high school players and coaches at its jamboree Monday evening at the Methodist Home for Children.

The club also announced its annual Middle Georgia Kick-off Classic at Mercer’s Five Star Stadium, slated for Aug. 20. Northside and Jones County will square off, followed by Northeast and Mary Persons. The event serves as a fundraiser for the club’s scholarship program.

The following players were honored at the event, which featured a speech by Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart:

  • Back of the Year: Travion Solomon, QB, Northeast
  • Lineman of the Year: Coleman Cauley, LB, FPD
  • Special Teams Player of the Year: Evan West, P/K, Jones County
  • Marvin Davis Coach of the Year: Jeremy Wiggins, Northeast
  • Marvin Davis Coach of the Year: Greg Moore, FPD
  • Bobby Pope Coach of the Year: Marquis Westbrook, Warner Robins

  • Grayson Dugger, Jones County
