Mercer will face Coastal Carolina in the first round of the NCAA men's soccer tournament at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the CCU Soccer Stadium in Conway, South Carolina.
Mercer (7-8-6) beat the University of North Carolina at Greenville on Sunday as the Bears claimed their second consecutive Southern Conference Championship.
Also, for the second consecutive year, Mercer senior keeper Jeremy Booth was named the 2017 SoCon Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Booth had six saves in 11 penalty kicks during the tournament.
The Bears have been to the NCAA tournament four times, the last time in 2016 when they lost to South Carolina 1-0. The Bears also lost in previous tournament appearances in 1999 and 2001, according to the release.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (12-6-1) took the 2017 Sun Belt title after beating Georgia State 2-0. The Bears are the only SoCon squad in the field of 48.
