Lynyrd Skynyrd is coming to the Macon Coliseum. Here’s how to get tickets.
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour is coming to the the Macon Coliseum on May 9, 2020.
Ticket sales start for the general public on Friday and can be purchased online or at the Macon Coliseum box office.
The concert starts at 8 p.m., and parking costs $10 either at the gate or online when a ticket is purchased.
The name for the tour, presented by Live Nation, comes from the band’s song “The Last of the Street Survivors,” and the band’s fifth studio album “Street Survivors,” according to a news release.
The band is best known for its song “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Free Bird,” according to the release.
Lynyrd Skynyrd spent time in Macon recording at Capricorn Studios, which was founded by Phil Walden and recently renovated into Mercer Music at Capricorn.
Alan Walden, Phil Walden’s brother, managed the band in its early years and said in a 2014 interview that the band learned how to record music at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Alabama.
Gary Rossington, the last original member of the band, is joined by Johnny Van Zant, Rickey Medlocke, Mark “Sparky” Matejka, Michael Cartellone, Johnny Colt, Peter Keys, Dale Krantz Rossington and Carol Chase for the current rendition of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
