Disappointed

I am disappointed in the Georgia Legislature's failure to fix the $200 annual fee imposed upon drivers of electric vehicles. Analysis by the Union of Concerned Scientists showed that driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck 15,000 miles, the driver is taxed $175 in gasoline taxes.

The Nissan Leaf, which weighs considerably less than two tons as a Ford F-150 weighs, is taxed at $200 besides the cost of electricity and associated taxes.

Broken promises

The dilemma going on in Europe is the result of the Arab Spring hatched out of the U.S. White House. The Clintons through the Obama administrations have failed to govern as world leaders.

In fact, back in 1915 the allied forces persuaded the Arabs to fight against the Turkish Empire with a promise from Sir Henry McMahon. He pledged to Sharif Hussein, descendent of Mohammed, the prophet, to recognize and support, the independence of the Arabs south of Asia Minor. The pledge was broken not only creating an enemy for life but also gave raise to T.E. Lawrence, otherwise known as Lawrence of Arabia. Failure to address these broken promises with honor has led to downing of towers and suicide bombing worldwide.

Global history of man has proven that war and death has replaced honor and truth, so let it be war.

Modern day Sodom

Corruption can be defined as a dishonest or illegal behavior by people in power. The majority of the people we elect are actually seeking office for deceitful purposes. So, whom can you trust? Nobody. Hillary Clinton is a person who thinks she is above the law. Bernie is a communist in socialist attire wanting to promise everything for free while the government takes care of you and your earnings. And, the entire Republican Party has proven to be an establishment of lies and deceit. Even those people running for office in the local elections are probably not as honest as they would have you believe. Our Founding Fathers would probably look on us as deserving of just what we get. So what are we getting? More of the same lies and deceit, of course.

The only thing that will save this country is a return to its Christian foundation. Presently, the United States is on a pathway to self-destruction. Sodom and Gomorrah on a larger scale, perhaps. Don't become a pillar of salt looking back longing for what was. Look toward a brighter Christian tomorrow.

Bye, bye

On Thursday Winston Lawson stated that we should give President Obama credit for the great job he has done for the U.S.A. I beg to differ with him as do many other Americans. Obama will go down in history as one of if not the worst president this country has had. ObamaCare is a travesty. Allowing illegals by the thousands to enter this country is a drain on America's resources. Obama acts the part of a king or dictator instead of a president. He is determined to have his way even if he has to do so by executive order. A community organizer does not make a president.

Obama has been a traitor to the American people and his reign will not end soon enough. He should have been impeached years ago for his dastardly deeds, especially for failing to honor the American Constitution. He has been no better than an insult to this great country. On top of what he has done, or maybe I should say, failed to do, he now wants an 18 percent increase in payments that he will receive upon leaving office. I can only say as to his departure, good riddance.

The big truth about life

Every time I think we've reached the cellar someone comes along to show me a new bottom. The young crowd now needs a "safe space" where they can congregate only with like-minded people. A safe space where they can shut out the world and not be harmed by different ideas. This week, students at Emory University needed counseling due to the pain caused them by the words "Trump 2016" written on steps with chalk. Yes, you read correctly. They felt intimidated and frightened by chalk writings on campus steps because they didn't like the idea it represented.

Forget their anxiety for a minute and concentrate on their childishness. These are, supposedly, semi-mature individuals who are learning how to cope with and make their mark on the world. Can future leaders really live in a fantasy land populated only by their beliefs? Is turning and hiding from terrorism going to work? Will refusing to negotiate help them buy a car? How many friends will they have if they can't abide a different point of view? Do they think they will never be wrong?

Now, some will say President Obama's been doing exactly that for years and that may be true, but these kids are taking it to a whole new level. Nobody goes through life without recognizing the need to compromise. And the sooner one learns that truth about life the sooner they become an adult.

Unknown bias

The Marine Corps has recently been directed to conduct "sensitivity training" to discuss "unknown bias" among Marines, particularly about women in infantry combat roles. I didn't know that I had an unknown bias, but I'm sure I will come to grips with it when the commander-in-chief takes his daughter down to the Post Office to register her for the draft July 4, her 18th birthday.

Our military is all volunteer and Congress would have to approve a female draft.
