Great effort

On behalf of the Board of Loaves and Fishes Ministry, I would like to thank David Clark and the staff of the Chick-fil-A on Tom Hill Boulevard for allowing us to participate in its 2016 canned food drive. Thanks to the generosity of the staff and the many patrons that participated, we were able to raise over 1,000 cans of food to help restock the food pantry at Loaves and Fishes. These cans will provide many meals for the clients of Loaves and Fishes.

Thanks again to David Clark, his staff and all who participated in this worthwhile cause.

Co-op programs

Free Community College? Why not? It's called a co-op program. Half the time academics and half the time working. Where does it say a two year academic degree can't be obtained over a four year period? Students are more "mature" and experienced when they graduate and don't have to pay anything. It's free. Our learned academic politicians can establish the details.

Prophetic words

Daniel Webster, 19th century statesman, orator wrote: "There are men of all ages, who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be kind masters, but they mean to master." The time we now live, we can see how prophetic were his words. Politicians promise much when nominated, but when elected, their love for power surpasses their love of promise. We see now why the Constitution, once a sacred document, is now much ignored and by many considered useless. Our once sacred freedom of speech is overridden by political correctness.
