Will hold a ticket for Ellis

I read former Macon Mayor Jack Ellis's letter complaining about Sheriff David Davis providing traffic and security services to GOP frontrunner Donald Trump at a Macon Coliseum political rally recently without passing the cost onto the candidate. I found his argument much ado about nothing, and I support Sheriff Davis and his staff in providing such services when needed. Bibb County has reason to be very proud of our sheriff and his staff and the prompt 24/7 response available when needed.

Hopefully, Trump will visit Macon-Bibb again on Air Force One. If the Donald will give me an extra ticket to that event, I may invite Ellis to join me for an evening of sensibility and fun.

Terrorism is terrorism

Terrorism is violence against innocent civilians to promote a political agenda. Wherever it occurs, the media should use the word consistently whenever religious or political zealots murder innocent men, women and children.

Terrorism is the enemy of our American freedom. It is the means frequently used by strident minorities who seek to impose their will on the majority because they can't win at the ballot box. The jihadists who behead civilians or enslave schoolgirls or burn down churches are terrorists.

Media should use this word consistently whenever religious or political zealots murder innocent men, women, and children.
