Prompt response
After connecting with The Telegraph about the need for a traffic light at the intersection of Fort Hill and Emery Highway, many lives were saved. After witnessing what could have been a fatality near the school on Second Street, I expressed my concern to some people and received no response. No response sends a clear message.
I contacted the mayor's office, and the next day I received an email from the traffic engineer, who stated that a school flasher would be installed. It is the prompt attention to this issue to help ensure the safety of the children in this area that deserves to be commended. Everyone looking out for the safety of others can help Macon become one of the safest cities to live in.

Mind control
In the Oct. 15 Viewpoints, Jo Dawson informs us of the mind control experiments being carried our by the CIA. I am concerned for Dawson's safety. We all know how those people and other secret government organizations feel about and deal with those who expose their secrets. I have it on good authority from one of my imaginary friends that Dawson could be on the list for the "black helicopter pickup" where he will be taken to one of the "re-education camps" in Kentucky.
I suggest he double the amount of tin foil in his baseball cap and put a penny in each of his shoes. And don't answer a knock on the door late at night unless the proper sign and countersign are given. The sign is "chicken little," and the countersign is "the sky is falling."

Oversight committee?
Your editorial, "Oops, a four letter word no one wants to hear," and the potential cost of an error, $99,500, has brought forth all kinds of questions and potential second-guessing from multiple leadership people. This is chump change compared to the tens of millions of dollars that the Bibb County Board of Education allowed to be squandered, misspent or stolen. No one yet knows the specifics of what happened amid the cloud of near silence by those in leadership positions now expressing alarm. My question relates to this same Bibb BOE. How can we, the citizens, feel positive towards the E-SPLOST worth $180 million considering the quality of the board's prior governance record? Trust is earned. I think the record of this board warrants an oversight committee of knowledgeable citizens of the county be appointed by a grand jury or judge to monitor the utilization of funds. What say ye board?
