Undecided
Well, it appears as if Frank Gadbois can’t decide if he wants to be Josef Mengele Jr., with the abortions or an activist for the liberal news when it concerns Donald Trump. Ever noticed how the Democratic Party is quick to kill babies but have a fit if you try to execute a convicted murderer or terrorist? While you may or may not like Donald Trump, very few of the things he says can be denied. He is successful, brash and blunt, which we need to start looking for in a leader. We have gotten too politically correct with the liberal Democratic Party in charge of our social life.
I, too, want us to quit funding abortion at Planned Parenthood with federal tax dollars, and if the left is so intent on keeping it open, let them fund it, but not from my pocket. Also, I know where France is. It is the biggest area where you can get brand new guns that are never used due to the actions of the French military. France is another socialist country that is a joke to the world and that is allowing Islamic terrorists to take over. It’s ime to start carrying more ammo with the latest news of the lone wolf attacks that it appears the liberal Democratic Party supports.

Professional help
Will Rogers once said that the country is being run by people who should not be allowed to play with matches. He foresaw Centerville, circa 2015. The stuff that is going on in City Hall is a disgrace. It would serve Centerville well if everyone there resigned. That way we could get professional people in to handle taxation, which one councilman said is not being handled properly. We could get real police in, not teachers; we could get representatives in, not land speculators.

Our greatest threat
Before you alter your lifestyle, other than being more attentive, remember America survived the most degenerate and abusive armies ever in World War 11. Yes, 50 million died, but the Axis powers lost.
The very worse thing we can do is to play into their hands by not living our lives to the fullest. Their holy book, the Koran, is very specific about infidels, but our Bible and our people will do our bidding against all threats.
Our worst enemy is our governments, which have refused to bring home our troops and be candid about our enemy.

Live egg free
McDonald’s pledge last week to start using cage-free eggs is only a small step in preventing staggering suffering endured by millions of birds. Hatcheries that annually supply 200 million female hens for U.S. egg production, including cage-free, also kill the same number of male chicks at birth by grinding them up alive in industrial macerators or suffocating them slowly in plastic garbage bags. The female laying hens endure a lifetime of misery, crammed with five or six others, in small wire-mesh cages that cut into their feet and tear out their feathers.
Eggs are common carriers of food-borne bacteria, including salmonella, campylobacter. listeria and staphylococcus. USDA estimates that salmonella alone accounts for 1.3 million U.S. illnesses and 500 deaths annually. Eggs contain saturated fat and cholesterol, key factors in incidence of heart disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes. They are a common cause of allergies in children.
Waste from millions of egg-laying hens ends up in waterways, rendering vast areas unsuited for recreation or water supply. The good news for compassionate, health-conscious, eco-friendly consumers is that our local supermarket offers a number of delicious egg substitutes and egg-free food products. Entering “egg-free” in a search engine returns tons of recipes.

Gadbois had
one thing right
I was not surprised by Frank Gadbois’ virulent assault on Donald Trump. He castigated Trump as a farce, a genuine jerk and a clown. He maintains Trump’s outrageous and arrogant campaign appearances are ludicrous and are a circus act. He declares Trump is an aberration. But he does admit that Donald’s hair is real. Is this an indication of what Frank thinks is really important? I expected more from Frank. I thought he would at least identify the policies that he opposed and provide alternatives and rational for them. Name calling is childish, and I think this was beneath Frank.
I was surprised at Frank’s low opinion of the voting public. He claims that we know little of our history and current affairs. That our view of America is distorted and that we do not comprehend current domestic problems. I am amazed that I have to remind Frank that we are aware of the needs and existence of the poor. The government provides subsidies and tax incentives to enable individuals to improve their situations. But recipients have to take responsibility for their actions and lack of initiative. The only way out of poverty is work and determination, not reliance on the welfare state.
It is obvious Frank is not conversing with the same people that I am. Most of us high school graduates can find France on a map. And thanks to Frank, we can find gun free England, too.
Frank was correct about one thing. Voters are frustrated by the lackluster performance of professional politicians who put reelection ahead of doing the people’s work. I feel it is my responsibility to inform Frank that the real Roman circus is in Washington. It exists because of the petty bickering of voters. We must stop the name calling and discuss issues rationally as adults.

Donald’s preference
Donald Trump made a statement about Carly Fiorina’s appearance as to who would vote for someone who with a face like her’s. Has he not seen Hillary Clinton lately? I guess beauty is only skin deep, ugly is to the bone. Beauty fades away but ugly holds on.

Destroying the peace
Now that we have had a few beautiful, less humid days, I have tried to open the windows in our home to let the fresh air in. We love to sit outside, enjoying our morning coffee and newspaper when the weather is cool. We also enjoy having our meals outside. However, thanks to our dog owning neighbors who allow their pets outside to bark hours on end, this is impossible. We live in the Trotters Ridge subdivision in Warner Robins. Are dog owners deaf, or do they just tune out their pets? I think I will be calling animal control if this keeps up.

Great bet
Reading Bill Cummings’ columns with great interest, I find myself thinking of a long ago lecture by a Jesuit priest. If memory holds true, it went something like this: If Catholics are right in their beliefs, they have everything to gain, if they are wrong, they have nothing to lose.

Orange and black
I am a Mercer alumnus and a huge Bears football fan. I haven’t missed a home game since football was reinstated. I was at the game last Saturday and a friend asked “when did they change the color of their uniforms? This gray is just plain ugly.” I agreed. The gray uniforms are at best drab and many people might think the color is ugly. I do wish they would bring back the orange and black uniforms they wore during the first season. Save the gray for away games. After all, Mercer’s colors have always been orange and black, not gray.

Can’t get everything
Rinda Wilson got it wrong on abortion and Planned Parenthood. Friday she got it wrong on the nuclear treaty with Iran. Wilson wants an unconditional surrender of all nuclear capabilities by Iran. Just like Japan at the end of World War II. The Treaty of Versailles after World War I humiliated most Germans and helped create Adolf Hitler and WWII.
Negotiations must involve give and take in which no one actually gets all they want. The six nations and their negotiators with Iran got the best deal they could. They knew that failure to get a treaty with Iran makes for a more dangerous world. With Israel more than likely to attack Iran in a vain attempt to destroy its nuclear capabilities. And not get them all. And then what? Financial instabilities in the Middle East.
The Iranians are not all Eagle Boy Scouts and they are very nationalistic and not likely to change their stripes anytime soon. But most of its citizens are young and like our culture, etc. The treaty will lead to more opportunities for all Iranians. It will bring more economic prosperity and also more healthy desires for basic freedoms.
