Give back to get

I applaud Joe Allen and his Kids Yule Love program for now requiring four hours of community service in order to receive Christmas gifts. Santa and his elves work all year to provide those toys, the delivery service is pure bedlam, and the reindeer work hard, too. It is only fitting families receiving those goods and services help by giving something back to a community offering such a good program. Hopefully, other local programs will adopt similar eligibility requirements.

Duckworth rant

I have looked in the bible and find no statement saying the world is 6,000 years old as Randal Duckworth says it is. Please point it out to us. I have found, many times, people fear what they don’t understand. His fear is so overwhelming that it appears as a rant. It seems like he is are trying to convince himself. Believe me, he convinced no one else. What a waste of editorial space.

Mount Rushmore face-lift

Having just returned from Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and visiting Mount Rushmore I wondered while there if Washington and Jefferson’s faces would have to be removed because they once owned slaves.
