After a Friday of scattered showers with high temperatures around 80 degrees in and around Middle Georgia, the outlook for Saturday looks mostly clear with highs in the mid-to-lower 80s.

According to the National Weather Service’s statewide forecast, Saturday’s highs will be about normal for this time of year, while the early part of the coming week will feel a bit more fall-like.

Conditions in and around Middle Georgia through most of next week were expected to begin “with a reprieve from the oppressive heat ... as more September-like temperatures are forecast Sunday,” forecasters at the weather service’s Peachtree City post said Friday.

High temperatures across the region will be in the 80s on Sunday with overnight lows in the 60s, with a “feel like early fall across the area,” forecasters said.

Just don’t break out those sweaters just yet.

Daily high temperatures will climb back into the 90s as the week progresses, “running 5 to 10 degrees above normal,” the weather service noted.
