Damaging winds, heavy rains. Scenes from south, east Georgia in Hurricane Idalia

Hurricane Idalia officially hit south Georgia Wednesday morning, and it brought with it damaging winds in excess of 100 mph.

The hurricane made landfall along the coast of the Florida Big Bend near Keaton Beach at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday morning as a Category 3 hurricane with sustained winds at an estimated 125 mph.

Hurricane warnings were issued for areas south and on a line from Valdosta to Savannah while places further inland received tropical storm warnings.
