Will it rain or snow on New Year’s Eve night? The Farmers’ Almanac forecast is in

New Year’s Eve is a fun and festive night, full of music, parades and of course, the countdown to midnight and special kiss.

But don’t pop the champagne yet.

The Farmers’ Almanac weather forecast is in and it’s looking a bit soggy for some regions across the country.

Here’s the weather forecast for Wednesday, Dec. 28-Saturday, Dec. 31:

Zone 1 - New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C.

  • This region will be seeing snow turn into rain as midnight approaches.

Zone 2 - Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Wisconsin

  • Rain and snow will mix as these states enter the New Year.

Zone 3 - Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida

  • The Southeast will need to pop open an umbrella before the champagne; a rainy New Year’s is expected.

Zone 4 - Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana

  • Good news for these states: clear, fair weather for the end of 2022 and start of the New Year.

Zone 5 and 6 - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Washington, Oregon and Idaho

  • It’ll be all clear here; no rain for the New Year.

Zone 7 - California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona

  • Those celebrating the New Year in these states may want to have rain boots on standby. Looks to be a wet, rainy close to 2022 and probably a wet opening to 2023 as well

Whatever the weather, be sure to check your local weather forecasts and stay safe this New Year’s.
