Wal-Mart employee gives shoes off his feet — literally

A Wal-Mart employee is drawing praise for giving his shoes to a person in need.

Myrna Kines witnessed the exchange at the Lithia Springs Wal-Mart in Douglas County.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” Kines told WSB-TV in Atlanta. “I walked up to the man he just gave his shoes away to and asked, ‘Did he just give you his shoes?’ ”

Kines took a picture of the worker, Phil Bravin Powell, and posted it to her Facebook page late July 29. By early Aug. 2, the post had been shared more than 700 times.
