Georgia man sold truck in South Carolina and was arrested, cops say. Here’s why
A Georgia man was arrested in Lexington after he used a phony title to sell a truck, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Lorenzo Fabio Constantin — a 26-year-old from Kennesaw, Georgia — was charged with obtaining property under false pretenses (value $10,000 or more) and forgery (value $10,000 or more), SLED said Monday in a news release.
Constantin was arrested Jan. 8, according to the release.
The incident that led to the arrest happened in the 800 block of Hendrix Street on Sept. 7, 2025, arrest warrants show. That’s in Lexington, near the junction of West Main Street and U.S. 378.
Constantin knowingly sold a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 to the victim using a fraudulent Florida vehicle title, according to the arrest warrants. He sold the Chevy pickup for $25,500 cash, the arrest warrants said.
The counterfeit title was used to hide a lien, according to the arrest warrants.
Both a photo lineup and facial recognition technology were used to identify Constantin, the arrest warrants show.
The Lexington Police Department asked SLED to lead an investigation.
Constantin will be prosecuted by the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Information about Constantin’s bond was not available, and he’s not currently listed on the Lexington County Detention Center’s inmate roster, jail records show.
