61-year-old ‘did not care’ about girl’s age when molesting her, GA officials say
A 61-year-old is going to prison after being convicted of molesting a 9-year-old, Georgia officials said.
In January 2021, Feliciano Albarran Real inappropriately touched a 9-year-old girl, saying he “did not care about her age,” according to an Oct. 29 news release by the Gwinnett County District Attorney.
The girl told a relative about the abuse and said it was “causing her body pain,” prosecutors said.
During the trial, the girl told the court Real threatened to hurt her if she told anyone about the abuse, officials said.
He was found guilty on charges of aggravated child molestation, officials said.
“This is despicable behavior, and we are grateful that the jury found this defendant guilty,” District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson said in the release. “We pray that this victim and her family find justice and solace in this outcome, as we continue to work with them to provide resources to aid in her recovery.”
Real, of Norcross, was “sentenced to life with 25 years to serve in prison” and will be required to register for life as a child sex offender, officials said.
Gwinnett County is about a 40-mile drive northeast from Atlanta.
