Powerball player misses $410 million jackpot — but still wins big in Georgia
A Powerball player in Georgia won $1 million, just missing the $410 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning numbers but not the Powerball in the drawing Saturday, Aug. 2, the Georgia Lottery said.
Two other Georgia players won $50,000 each in the drawing.
The winning numbers were 6, 18, 34, 35 and 36 with a Powerball of 2. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
Powerball jackpot rises
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $426 million, with a cash value of about $193.5 million, for the next drawing Monday, Aug. 4, the national Powerball site said.
More than 745,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won May 31, when a California player hit the $204.5 million grand prize.
