Lottery player wins $275,000 jackpot in Georgia. Where was ticket sold?
A Georgia lottery player turned an online ticket into a six-figure prize.
The McDonough resident hit the Fantasy 5 jackpot, winning $275,312 in the drawing Tuesday, May 13, the Georgia Lottery said in a news release.
The winning ticket, sold on the Georgia Lottery app, matched all five numbers. The lucky player beat odds of 1-in-850,668 to take home the top prize, according to the lottery’s website.
The winning numbers drawn Tuesday were 3-11-13-19-40, results show.
Lottery officials didn’t say if the ticket had been claimed as of May 14.
The jackpot win comes four days after another Fantasy 5 player won a whopping $2,488,184 in the May 9 drawing, becoming the biggest jackpot win for the game since its 1994 debut, McClatchy News reported, citing lottery officials.
That ticket was sold in Cartersville and shattered a previous record-holding jackpot of $2,394,862, the Georgia Lottery said.
Winners have 180 days to claim prizes in draw games and are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket, according to the lottery’s website.
McDonough is about a 30-mile drive southeast from downtown Atlanta.
