Chaos ensues after couple come home to vulture in their Georgia house, video shows
A couple walked into their home in Georgia to find something that startled them.
Doorbell camera footage posted on Facebook by Vernalisa Rougeux shows her and her fiance running out of their front door just moments after they went inside.
“There’s a vulture in the house,” Rougeux’s fiance can be heard saying.
“What are you talking about?” she replies, sounding astonished.
The couple then immediately becomes concerned about their dog, Georgia, who can be seen running seconds later, tail wagging, to greet them.
Rougeux’s fiance goes inside with a cellphone camera that shows the bird perched casually on the arm of a chair in the living room.
Then, Rougeux has an idea.
“Hold on, let me get the umbrella,” she can heard saying in the video.
About a minute later, the large bird flies hastily out of a different door as Rougeux follows close behind carrying an open umbrella.
“What in the …,” she says before the video ends.
Many users commented on the video on Rougeoux’s Facebook page.
“Crazy and hilarious,” wrote Neina Self Sewell. “You go girl!”
“They need to add you to the Avengers franchise, what with your madd umbrella skillz (sic)!” wrote Simone Hanson.
Rougeux and her fiance Jake Troti live in Roswell, according to 11Alive. Rougeux was not available for an interview with McClatchy News.
Roswell is about 20 miles north of Atlanta.
Black vultures, like the one in the video, have wingspans of less than 5 feet, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Vultures can have “destructive” behavior, and black vultures are known to cause property damage, the department said.
The birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
