A two-car accident left 14 injured and an unborn baby dead July 30, according to Georgia officials.

It happened just before 9 a.m. when a Ford van carrying 13 passengers driving in front of a dump truck traveling south on GA 19 at I-16, south of Dublin, according to a statement from Georgia State Patrol.

The van’s driver missed a turn for a gas station and attempted to make a U-turn without yielding to the dump truck. The front of the truck hit the left side of the van, police said.

All 13 of the van’s passengers were injured, the statement says. Four passengers were transported to Atrium Health Navicent in Macon with serious injuries; three were airlifted and one was transported by ambulance. The remaining 11 passengers and the dump truck driver were transported to Fairview Park Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

One of the van’s passengers was pregnant and sustained serious injuries. Her baby died at the hospital, police said.

The crash is still under investigation.

The crash occurred about 52 miles southeast of Macon.
