Law enforcement in Georgia are asking victims to come forward after they say an unlicensed dentist was arrested in Gwinnett County.

Gerardo Lossada, 45, of Snellville, was arrested in November and charged with practicing dentistry without a license, county jail records show. He was released the same day on a $1,300 bond.

Investigators were tipped off by a “concerned citizen” who said Lossada was “causing disfigurement on his victims,” the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release on Dec. 7.

Gwinnett encompasses the suburbs of northeast Atlanta.

“After executing a search warrant at the residence, we confirmed Gerardo Lossada was conducting dental procedures without credentials on individuals,” the sheriff’s office said.

Citing an arrest report from the sheriff’s office, CBS46 reported Lossada cleaned people’s teeth and applied braces out of an office in his home. Chief Deputy Cleo Atwater also told the TV station that he appeared to be “targeting the Hispanic and Latino community.”

Anyone who believes they might be a victim of Lossada or any other dentist who is practicing without the proper licensing can make an anonymous report by calling 770-619-6655 or emailing GCSOJailInvestigations@GwinnettCounty.com.
