A Georgia man says an argument with a Waffle House worker over his order ended with a handgun pointed at his head.

Officers responded around 1 a.m. Wednesday to reports of a dispute at the restaurant’s downtown Atlanta location, according to a police report obtained by McClatchy News. The caller, Candy Franklin, told police a Waffle House waitress got angry and pulled a gun when he complained about his food.

“It all happened over cheese eggs,” Franklin told WAGA. “At first, they didn’t bring them to me. Then they brought me normal eggs and I said that I ordered eggs with cheese on it. It was all a normal dispute over food. I never in a million years thought it would come to gun violence.”

The employee also threatened to “blow my brains out,“ Franklin told the news station.

Officers spoke with the waitress, who said it was Franklin who picked a fight with her “from the minute he placed his food order,” the police report states. Franklin complained that his food wasn’t prepared correctly, she told police, and proceeded to berate her because he was unhappy with his eggs.

His tirade went on for several minutes, she said, and led to Franklin’s order being changed several times, according to police. At one point, the server said Franklin followed her outside during her smoke break and continued to yell at her.

She told police Franklin finally left after she went back inside and gave him his food. The police report didn’t include any comment from the employee about having a gun.

No one was injured in the incident, authorities said. A police report shows the employee was charged with aggravated assault, however, no arrests have been made.

Waffle House released this statement Friday: “We are actively investigating the allegation at this time. Without a completed investigation we are unable to comment any further.”
