Georgia restaurant employee goes viral after helping veteran eat his meal

While Dallas Smith, Jr. was dining at a Huddle House in Douglas, Georgia, he captured a random act of kindness on video and shared it with the world.

During lunchtime, Smith noticed a veteran struggling to eat his meal with one hand when a cook named “Ms. Wanda” came over to help him, according to a Facebook post by Smith.

WSB-TV reported the cook walked over to the table and began cutting up the veteran’s pancakes for him so he and another man he was dining with could both enjoy their meals. Smith then took out his phone and began recording.

“It was kind of a warm feeling in there anyway because everyone knows everybody,” Smith told the station. “It threw me so far off guard when she did it. For me, it was just a blessing to see.”

Since it was posted on Nov. 22, the video has received over 216,000 views and over 4,000 shares on Facebook.

“This day and time, when you see that, it gives you hope,” Smith told the station. “I’m a Christian and it’s the closest thing to Jesus I’ve seen in a long time.”
