Video shows missing man slipped under water as he tried to save a drifting boat

A video from some docks along a river in south Georgia show a man tried to save his drifting boat before he disappeared.

The missing man was boating along the Altamaha River at Jaycee Landing in Jesup about 10:30 a.m. Sunday when he reportedly “slipped under the water,” Wayne County Emergency Management Agency posted on its Facebook early Monday.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources was called in to help search for the man along with a dive and rescue team from Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

The day-long search for the man ended about midnight and resumed early Monday “and will continue until the victim is found,” according to Wanye County EMA.
