Video captures the moment a school bus driver saved kids from fiery crash
A Georgia school bus driver is now being called a hero after she was able to save children from a fiery crash on Friday.
According to WSB-TV, a driver of a pickup truck crashed into the bus carrying students from Turner Middle School in Douglas County. The truck then caught fire, and flames quickly spread to the school bus while students were still on board.
Douglas County Schools Transportation Director Andy Micacchione told the station Shuronda Crawford-Richardson safely guided all the students off the bus. No students were injured.
“In an event like that, you don’t have a lot of time to work with. You can only go with what you’re taught, go do it, you know?” Crawford-Richardson said.
The driver of the pick-up truck also survived the crash. FOX 5 reported it is unclear if the driver will face charges.
