VIDEOS: Murder suspect McDaniel in court

The accused killer of Lauren Giddings appeared before a judge Wednesday afternoon at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Stephen Mark McDaniel and his attorney, Floyd Buford, asked Judge Barbara Harris for a commitment hearing. McDaniel was charged Tuesday night in the death of his neighbor and law school classmate whose torso was found in a trash bin outside their downtown Macon apartments June 30.
