McDaniel due in court Wednesday afternoon

Stephen Mark McDaniel, charged with murder late Tuesday in the slaying of his law school classmate, Lauren Giddings, is scheduled to appear this afternoon in Bibb County Magistrate Court.

During the first appearance hearing, McDaniel, 25, will officially be informed of the new charge against him and of his rights.

McDaniel was a next-door neighbor of Giddings’ at their Georgia Avenue apartment complex. Giddings’ torso was discovered outside her apartment building June 30.
